01

Agreeing to these terms.

By installing or using tek.CUT you agree to these terms and to the tek.CUT Privacy Policy. By connecting a YouTube channel or using any YouTube feature, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service ↗, and you acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy ↗. tek.CUT shows these terms and records your agreement before any YouTube feature works.

02

What tek.CUT is.

tek.CUT is software by HicksNewMedia that runs on your own computer inside Claude Code. It turns a show recording into a transcript, chapters, show notes, verified quotes, captioned clips and a YouTube package; reads your YouTube channel's data to show how your content performs; and, when you approve a plan, publishes to your channel. tek.CUT is licensed to you, not sold, under the license included with the software.

03

Your content and accounts.

  • You own your recordings, transcripts, clips and channels. tek.CUT claims no rights in them.
  • You must have the rights to anything you publish, and follow YouTube's Community Guidelines and policies.
  • tek.CUT publishes only what you approve with that plan's approval code. You are responsible for what you approve, including titles, descriptions and visibility.
  • Sponsor disclosures are your responsibility. tek.CUT adds the disclosure text you write and sets YouTube's paid promotion flag on sponsored videos you publish through it.
04

Accuracy and limits.

tek.CUT checks quotes, numbers and claims against your own transcript, but transcription can be wrong. Analytics come from YouTube and arrive with YouTube's reporting delay. Figures tek.CUT calculates itself are labeled as such. tek.CUT does not promise views, growth or revenue.

05

Third-party services.

tek.CUT works with services that have their own terms: YouTube and Google (YouTube Terms of Service ↗, Google Privacy Policy ↗), Claude Code by Anthropic, and optional services you choose to enable (Deepgram transcription, VocalLab voice). Your use of each is governed by its terms.

06

No warranty; liability.

tek.CUT is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, HicksNewMedia is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of tek.CUT, including content you approved for publishing.

07

Stopping use.

You can stop using tek.CUT at any time. tekcut.py connect --disconnect @channel revokes its access to your channel and deletes the YouTube data it stored. HicksNewMedia may end access to tek.CUT for misuse, including use that violates the YouTube Terms of Service.

08

Changes to these terms.

The version and date at the top change with every update. Material changes take effect only after tek.CUT asks you to agree again.
